This got me to thinking which is sometimes dangerous. Back in the 70’s my best friend once said I want work to live not live to work. All these years I thought he was a genius for coming up with this but often wonder did he or did he just hear it elsewhere. Anyone know the origin of this phrase?

Socrates is credited with originating a phrase something like "wise people eat to live, not live to eat." Kind of a statement of moderation; and it is used by health advocates all the time. Good chance the "work" statement is a variation of that phrase.

Wife and I are early to bed, early to rise people. On the weekends our news doesn't start until 0500 so between 3ish and then she let's me dive deep into my childhood music and I cast onto the TV, stern on and keep it mellow.

I had forgotten how much I love this album and specifically this song. As an old dude now with a bit of life behind me the line 'when you lose control, you reap the harvest you have sown' hit pretty deep. I have not always been the best of humans up until I met my wife. She saved me a couple decades ago.
