Daughter 23, got hit by drunk driver!!!! Grrrrr!! But she ok!

Texted me at 0523 this a.m., Low speed, 4 drunk under age kids tboned her 99(??)Saturn, air bags worked great, son will NOT be gettin my non air bag Camry! Small pelvic fracture, swollen right hand, 4 small staples at hair line, she feels fine yet sore back and hand and pelvis, refuses pain meds, feels "fine" maybe 2-4 weeks on crutches, scared the hell outta me! And she doesn't want me to fly down, we'll see. God I hate drunk drivers!

Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad that she will be OK. Drunk driving has no proper place in this world.

I got my kids new cars with all-around airbags, just for those kinds of situations.

Glad she escaped with no life-threatening injuries. It just goes to show you how precious and fragile life is. But getting drunks off the road would improve the odds.

Glad to hear all is mostly well. I'd recommend that she not be in a hurry to close things up with the insurance. A little stiff and sore in the back now can become a whole lot worse later. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks for things to fully set in. If there was enough force to crack her pelvis there may have been enough to cause problems in her neck and back later. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have her find a decent Chiropractor or PT.

...seriously? Did you buy them Snell rated helmets and nomex firesuits as well?....just to be really sure?

....just kidding....but it always flattens me in terms of modern parenting culture trying to keep kids....uh, no wait young adults (driving age of course, at least) supposedly safe.

She out of hospital, on crutches, slight pain meds, going to Hawaii w/ bf in a week or so, waiting on police info of other driver( 4 underage boys in other car) good spirits. Insurance wise and attorney stuff waiting. Thats my Xmas present!

yup believe so, just moved 7 miles north to Pacheco/Pleasant Hill border by Sun Valley Mall, when you live here?
