I recently purchased a golf cart and have installed a set of headlights on it. The headlight kit came with a wiring harness and switch along with the headlights and taillights. The positive and negative leads for the system are connected directly to the battery. So here is the problem and what I have done to pinpoint it. The headlights work fine when the cart is running at low speed but when the motor gets to a higher rpm the lights begin to pulsate. Now I have removed several conponents and have narrowed it down to the voltage regulator. The regulator is working properly as I have tested the voltage at the battery when the engine is not running and when it is. The starter/generator is charging properly. The pulsation begins to occur when the voltage regulator hits high limit and "goes in and out" causing the puslation. What I need to know is there something I could put onto the system to eliminate this like a noise filter or something similar?
The cart is a 2000 Yamaha G16 gas powered and it does have a resistor plug NGK BPR2ES.
