2000 Merc.15hp.Manuel.<br /> No spark to either plug. 200hrs on motor... Mag die? if so how to replace..thank you.... :>)*

Are you sure your kill switch is not switched to "STOP" or is possibly staying grounded even when switched to "Run"? Disconnect the switch wires and test the switch with an ohm or continutiy meter to prove the switch is not malfunctioning. If this engine has a stop button in the throttle handle (my 15 HP Merc has one), check that it is also not preventing a start. Either the "Kill" switch or the "Stop" button in the handle can cause a no-spark if either is malfunctoning. Look for the simplest cause first. The other causes can be expensive to fix.

Check the stator. I had the same problem with my 25HP Mariner and replaced the stator...Problem solved.

I had a 40 hp merc that would the starter would turn the engine but there wasnt any spark or fire. I unplugged the harness @ the engine. put water on the foot. using a jumper from the small positve post to the large post.(putting power on the solenoid) see if the engine will start. If it does you will have to choke it to shut it off. Or in my case i just plugged the harness back in. It shut right down. I replaced the ignition switch and solved he problem.
