decarbing on muffs

Is it possible to decarb on muffs? I would like to decarb but will not be able to take it to the water for a couple of more weeks.

sure just don't rev it more than 1500 rpms. also the exit water and exhaust can make a mess, as it blows the crud out. don't do it on a concrete driveway.

I just did my 1972 Johnson 65hp. The area around my workshop is dirt and shell so I wasn't too worried out the mess. BTW, as far as environmental concern goes, I would rather do this on the muffs because you can contain the mess, while you can't in the water. I may have ticked off a few grasshoppers, but at least there aren't a slew of fish coughing and swearing at me right now!

No problem, I do it to my outboards all the time. I don't like my neighbors anyway, so I don't worry about the noise and the smoke.

Thats what i do...LOL!!
I wait and do it on a Saturday when everyone is out mowing and working in the yards...:p
its better than dumping that Goo in the lake!
