In our grief over other losses let's not forget the thousands of young Americans who perished on this date 69 years ago.:(

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." :(:(:(

Re: December 7

As a young sailor stationed in Hawaii during the late 60's I made several trips to the Arizona memorial. Touching....very touching.

It was hard to imagine the carnage that took place that day. God rest those brave souls and the many others who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Let us never forget that despite our many differences, We Are Americans. We shall always remember the sacrifices borne by those that we may enjoy our rights as free men.

God Bless America!!

Re: December 7

Today has been a very calm day for me, 20 years ago, I had my Grandfathers ashes placed on the Arizona...so I have been spending the day reflecting on the sacrifice that has been freely given, at the time I spread my grandfathers ashes, I had been in combat, a few little mix ups here and there, but I was stationed in Hawaii, little did I know, a year later on my birthday, I would be in real combat.

At this time, all I can say is thank you to those who sacrificed, and most of all thank you Grandpa, I hope you are resting in peace..

I think it will be interesting to see how people remember 9-11 in 60 years.

Yes, this is a day to remember. Unfortunately, as well as losing a good man here, who was a great asset to the iBoats website, I lost three people who were very close to me this year alone. All three of which, were Naval Veterans. Two of which were WWII Vets. One, was a man I worked for, for over 15 years, who joined the navy in 1937 and served 20 years, the second was my ex-Father-in-Law, who was a photographer in WWII, in England and last but not least, my own father, who was a 25 year Naval Veteran. So, I have a great reason, to remember those who served and those who died for our great nation.

God bless, to all who have served and to those who died, for our freedoms and our great nation.:):)
