Re: Deck and stringer restoration - estimated cost to have done at a local shop?

are u serious? and i was getting info on how to... from him  do u think what friscoboater did with his transom was good?

Hey, ya do know we are just kidding...oops! is like the Gurus Guru when it comes to workin on boats...actually does this for a living and has had many, many very happy customers...anyone here would be glad to get any advice from him when it comes to workin on boats...

Unfortunately you may have misinterpreted our good natured ribbing of what is probably one of the most knowledgeable guys on this forum...sorry 'bout that...we was only havin some fun at a great guy's expense...

And whatever friscoboater does is right up there with some of the best work that even some professionals hope to acheive...so, yep...what he did on his transom is Golden, too...

Stick around long enough and we will start poking fun at you too! Having it done professionally is expensive, but as long as it is a reputable shop with a good record it could be worth the investment....stay away from the low ball offers, there is a good saying about you get what you pay for and someone that is going to do it right will charge more than someone who is looking to make a quick buck by cutting corners. DIY takes a lot longer than you plan for but is rewarding, my personal boat project is on hold because while doing my own I found a love of the work and decided to start doing it as a business, mainly upholstery right now, but planning to expand to more. It is funny what life throws your way when ya need it, and the resto project I started was exactly what I needed to find a new purpose for an old cripple!
