checking for draw is not that hard, finding source ofghoast draw is another. a test light in series between ground cable and battery ground post will tell if there is a draw. how old is your truck? A faint glow is normal, a bright light is a draw. usually you can oppen and close a door to check this. this it has no dome light or glove box light ,turn on paring lights or horn horn. do not have key in ignition.these controled draws will give you an idea of current/amp flow. hope this helps.

Better to use an ammeter. You can get a fairly good draw that would drain your battery in a couple weeks that would never illuminate a light to a point that you could actually see.

I have an ammeter that I plan on using, as soon as IT's replacement battery arrives. Too many dead batteries around here!

I would not put a switch on it unless it is a very old truck.
New car and trucks have a computer inside and the battery maintains the information in the computer.
This information is information about how to tune you fuel injection system and smog or emissions systems.
Yes the computer will likely rebuild the information but the fine tuning can take awhile.
The switch will also cause your clock to loose time and you radio to loose all the stations you have programed.

One of my cars even wants a battery connected while you are chainging the battery.
They say to clip on another battery before you disconnect the one you are going to change.

Batteries die from being left discharged.
Starting batteries should not be discharged below 80 percent.
Deep Cycles should not be discharged below 50 percent.

Also a given current draw will drain a deep cycle battery just as fast as a starting battery. I have experience on this.
