Tandem plate racing is 1000% better and more exciting than two single file trains going around and around the track lap after lap. BORING

It seemed a little different than I remember from last year. The rear car was offset instead of straight behind the front car. I'm sure it's for cooling the rear car and seemed to work really well. Last year the two would swap or try to swap when the back one started to overheat. Maybe the cooler temps helped today.

Still a darn good race. :thumb:

This forecast doesn't sound good. I see rain NW of the track........

Today Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 1pm. Patchy dense fog before 10am. High near 62. Light and variable wind becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Depending on which weather service you check, it is a crap shoot today. Weather Channel hourly shows decent until the tap opens between 4 and 5. Weather Underground hourly shows 90% starting about 1 and continuing.

BTW - TWC owns Underground but it is still an independent operation except when major weather comes and they use Underground people to supplement the TWC on-air reporting. I guess the differing timing is just a matter of opinion but both of them say it gonna rain!

#31 runs good at the plate tracks. Can run up front all day, then something always seems to happen at the end and drops back....
