Re: delamination

You might drill a series of holes back a little from the edge, but still under the mounting flange, don't drill quite thru the plywood and inject epoxy with a needle then clamp. I would use epoxy as it is a glue and poly is not--Bob

Re: delamination

I have this stuff called kitty hair, it is a fiberglass fibers in a can used for reinforcing, i have a built in gas tank that i do not use i was wandering if it is worth taking out, the acess plate i speak of is for the top acess plate to the tank itself! are these tanks heavy ( no gas in it), is it worth taking out? i prefer the portable tanks and i do the premixed, disabled the vro system! thanks for your reply!

Re: delamination

I had a 21 gallon tank out of the boat I think it was 10 Lbs or so maybe 15 empty. Might want to leave it there but fill it with 2 lb foam to seal it off and make it floatable however, you will have to get the gasoline out and I mean all of it. I had my tank out and still got a gallon or so of fuel out after I thought it was empty.

As to the holes laddie has the right idea.

Was it a pain to remove? mine was replaced before i brought the boat, There are screws holding down a large acess panel in the floor, was thinking about removing the tank! What do you think? the foam idea is pretty good though!

Re: delamination

Remember foam placed low in the hull can cause a water filled hull to capsize

Re: delamination

Almost any salvage yard or junk man should take it for the scrap value
