Well, the printer works just fine. Tried to use a refurb cartridge and the printer recognized it right away as not being a DELL cartridge. Figured the printer must be fine. Ordered a DELL cartridge and it's up and running...... So thanks MT, it looks like the chip in the cartridge indeed was the culprit..... Now I can start billing for this spring/summer..........

Glad to hear you got it worked out, sometimes these damn things can just be a challenge.

I had non-Dell cartridge problems with mine too. Sometimes you just can't save a buck.
