So i have a lawernce portable depth finder that i was wanting to mount permently to the boat. I have 2 questions about this idea though.
1. I have a hummingbird on one side of the transom that goes to the other side of the boat that i can barely see while driving. Will this transducer interfer with the other and/or each other?
2. Can i mount the portable one to the dash and hard wire the power wires to the boat? Currently it requires 8 d size batteries, i believe that is a 12v system just not sure enough.
I was thinking of keeping it portable and just mount it to the back to answer question one. But the other one i wasnt sure enough about. My desire is to place it on the driver area so i can see my depth easier. This is a fish/depth finder i have had for what seems forever now. I got it back when i had my grandfathers bassbuster 8 ft boat, or would it just be cheaper and easier in the long run to either move the perminant one to the location i want? Also is there a setup that would allow the use of 2 units from say hummingbird off one transducer. It is a hummingbird wide 128 a older unit i know but it came on the boat when i got it and works fairly well. Thanks for the advice.
