If your engine is the original one for the boat, you current engine does not have Vortec heads.

If you want a simple, dependable, no hassle swap, then I would suggest going with a long block crate engine 350. You can pick up a brand new engine from Chevy for around $1,500, or less if you shop around. The good news is the truck engine has an appropriate cam, composite head gaskets, and brass core plugs. Put your marine externals on and go boating.

Oh yea? Just take my fly wheel off and should bolt right up to my outdrive?? I'm hearing people tell me, "make sure it's a one piece seal". I believe it was mentioned in an earlier post I had.........why would that matter? Do you think a 350 would get the performance that I'm looking for?

regarding the performance question, only you could answer. I myself would build a 383 stroker if I kept to a small block
