Hello all,

My cat stays in all year round and I use it through the winter every couple of weeks. Therefore, I flush the df140s at the dock in the tilt position using the hose connection. The issue I see here is when flushed at this angle in the summer, I notice that a decent amount of water drains out when you lower them back into the water. I am assuming this is NOT a good thing in the winter since we do get below freezing at night on occasion.

So last winter, I had been flushing the motors, lowering them back into the water to drain the remaining fresh water and then hosing off the lower units once back up. This seemed to be okay as the engines were fine.. but i wanted to double check with the experts.

Is this the right approach, or is there a better way for me to do this at the dock during the winter?

Thanks in advance,
Charles

Thanks for the reply justintime.

Just for clarification.. you are saying...

Flush the motors in the down position with the lower units in the water and then raise them and hose them off, correct?

Thanks,
Charles
