DF70 idlle speed

I own a Suzuki DF70 (1999) which I must say as been working like a charm.

But on my two last outings I noticed that after running with the boat at 4000RPMs for a while (5 min or more) , when I put it on neutral that the motor was iddling at 2000 RPMs. To get it down to normal iddling speed I had to put it into forward and neutral again.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

some techs just say do the fwd to neutral again
