Long story sort I put in at Sneeds Ferry, NC where the current is bad and it is very shallow. I was pushed in to a red maker with the motor running at about 1,200RPM the chain from the marker got wrapped in my Bravo3 prop and stalled the motor, I untangled it and started again, put the drive in to gear and it happened again. At that point I went back to the ramp and pulled out. It did damage the skeg with a small chip but I could not see anything else. Gave up on Sneeds Ferry, went down to Oak Island and took the boat to wrightsville and back (about 35 miles each way) Did not notice anything wrong. Just figured I would ask incase you guys know something I don't

Thanks,

Re: Did I damage my drive?

That happened to me with my Maxum where the current was so strong it pushed us around and the anchor chain got tangled in the prop and did the same.
After untangling it never saw any issue.

Similar thing happened when my son was motoring back to the dock one night he went a little to close to one side and at low tide we ran up a little on a bank and the engine died when the prop caught the mud. Restarted and tried to back out, died again.
Raised the outdrive a bit then was able to back out. No issues after that event either.

It did make me think that there is something in the design where if there is to much of a load on the prop something tells the engine to quit.
Maybe one of the other guys can comment on that.
