I just bought a boat, it a 1989 boat, motor and trailer. It had 1 previous owner. The guy said all it needed was a new water pump. The trailer does need all the U bolts, springs and bunk brackets replaced. Its a 15' A-Craft center console, 48hp SPL Evinrude and also a Hummingbird fish/deph finder. Also does anyone know anything about A-Craft boats? Let me know what you guys think, thanks! Oh yea, I paid $1,000.

I think you did OK..as long as the pump doesnt set you back too much..and all the work the trailer needs.
You checked the decking and transom throughly for soft spots, rot right??

it's only a good deal if it fits your needs. It'll probably zip along though, those are good old motors.

70 bucks for the water pump kit.

i did my trailer bunks for i believe about $35

i got an 88 Spl and i love it .. i think you did a good job.. i like it

Looks like a great boat. Like others have said, if it does what you want it to (and doesn't see the restoration thread for at least 30 days), it is the perfect boat for a great price.

The Boat and Trailer alone would easily go for a Grand here so I think you got a Great buy jash. Hope the boat serves you well for many years. welcome to iboats

Make sure you give the motor a good service before you use it though. Make sure all is well.

Looks sweet to me, and cheaper than you'd find around here. Actually, I haven't seen a boat quite like that around here. It looks like a mini-big-boat, if you know what I mean.

I noticed that the bottom is unpainted and looks clean, which may be a sign that it hasn't been moored in the brackish or salt water, which is also very good.

If you do all your own work, you should have less than $1500 in by the time you are done with everything you mentioned. Probably could include fuel and tackle in that number.

Don't think you can go wrong at that point. Even if you only get one year (I think it will go much longer) out of it, you got your monies worth.
