Difference between yamaha 25 & 30?????

I just picked up a 98' yamaha 3cyl 25 and would like to know the difference between it and the 30hp. Also, what can i do to increase the performance of this motor? Thanks for any help!

Not much you can do to "hot-rod" one of these motors, best way to better performance would be in boat/motor set-up, props, motor height on transom, weight distribution in boat, trim, clean hull, good motor maintenance, etc. My boat is a jon boat with a 90HP 2 stroke and at 5500RPM's that's really about all there is!

thanks for the info. i have a prop on the way, should be here today. got the motor mounted last night. cant wait to see what it does.
