All -
Recently upgraded the engine on my 19' Spectrum from a 1988 Evinrude 70 hp with the enclosed box controller (key in back, neutral throttle on top, shift control on the side) to a 1996 88 hp with stand alone shifter and remote key.
My questions are:
1 - Is there a way to rev or increase the rpms at idle to make starting and testing easier?
2 - I mounted the shift control to the side where the box control was by cutting a larger hole and screwing it together. Mounted the key switch at the front of the front of the panel so it does not interfere with shifter operation. Is this acceptable?
Also, looked at switching the controls since they are both Evinrude motors, but it was more difficult than I am capable of doing.
Thank you.
