I'm looking at purchasing a recently rebuilt 1991 Force 70HP. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea what the differences were between the different model numbers (The one I'm looking at ends in B).

Also does anyone know the weight of this motor?

I appreciate any help/advice.

Re: Differences within model year?

Weight is 209 lbs. Of course that varies somewhat based on T&T,shaft length.
Numbers represent similar conditions,Shaft length,T&T being the critical ones.
I can tell you a 706F91 is a 91 70hp,with no trim and tilt 708F91 has trim and tilt.F may refer to Force.Sorry I don't have any more specific info

Re: Differences within model year?

The 91B models use several different components from the later (newer) models, and the 92 models.

It uses a different carb and tower shaft.
It uses the older style 2 stage fuel pump.
It uses the old style fuel recirculation system.
It uses the earlier version of the ignition switchbox (with terminal connectors)
It uses a slightly different tilt system with different connectors.
It came with the older Chrysler Force fuel line connectors. Later models use the Mercury connector.
It uses a different spacer plate between the powerhead and the midsection.
Uses a different sparkplug - NGK BUZHW
