Different transducer Magna 2 eagle

I have rigged my Magna 2 eagle depth finder as a portable for ice fishing. I do not want to spend 2-300 dollars for a velxar and was wondering if the velar hockey puck style transducer will work on my eagle fish finder. The transducer that came with the eagle is a cone type that is tough to level out when ice fishing.
