I have a '96 Mercury 200 hp efi outboard S/N 0G373964 with oil injection and need to know how to disable the low oil alarm so I can run pre mix. I have tried unplugging every sending unit I can find but the alarm continues to sound.

ob there I did it again. This is a Mercury 200 efi. V6. The Mercury dealer advised against using pre mix but most in this forum say it is the way to go when problems arise. I have tried everything to shut that beep up to no avail.

Re: DISABLE LOW OIL ALARM??

There are two low oil level alarm harnesses. One on the oil reservoir under cowl and one on the oil tank in the boat.

DO BOTH OF THESE NEED TO BE DISCONNECTED BEFORE THE ALARM WILL SHUT OFF?

Re: DISABLE LOW OIL ALARM??

I plugged the oil lines and left enough oil in the oil bottle to cover the low oil sensor.

Re: DISABLE LOW OIL ALARM??

I have been experimenting again and found that if I disconnect the one purple wire feeding the low oil warning control the beeping stops. According to the print out from Mercury this control box is just for the low oil alarm. Does anyone know anything about this? I just want to disable the alarm to run premix and see if the oil injector is still functional and not just a sensor gone bad.
