Hi all,
I'm still waiting on my manual so please bare/bear? with me.I noticed today a single black w/yellow tracer wire coming out of the power pack.I has a single(male) pin in the connector.I also located the female plug which is not connected. Is there some reason these are not connected? Any help from a knowledgeable Johnson person would be greatly appreciated... Thanks...

This is off the top of my head but I think the black wire w/yellow is the wire that goes from the power pack(s) to the switch and then to ground to kill the engine.

c/6

Hooty

Hi RealAppel,
That's Johnson/Evinrudes color code for the power pack kill wire just as Hooty said. Don't know how the engine can be stopped with that wire disconnected.
Have Fun

Ahh ok,
That would be par for the course today. The mechanic stuck the male plug end in a notch in the power pack cover.Made it look like it was plugged into powerpack.(I knew it did not belong there). He also declined to put the thermostats back in too(found out today). It's hard to find good help these days, with the exception of the great folks on this forum of course. :D Thank you both!

It also could go to the shift switch.
