distributor cap question ---

Another stupid question I'm sure but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I have a Mallory dist. part # 4748201-H on my 5.7 gm engine, 1988 vintage . I want to change out the cap and rotor . Is the cap and rotor the same for an electronic ign as it is for a standard points dist. ? |The cap is a clip on type.

yep, caps and rotors dont care as long as there in the same family, points style with electronic innards . Electronic styles are specific

Thanks for your reply-- I have a Mallory Electronic not a conversion . I called Sierra earlier but never got any help to answer the phone so guess I'll try again tomorrow to make sure i get the right one.
