Distributor Replacement

HI, I have a 1987 Regal Mercruiser 5.7L 350 260HP SB. I need to replace the distributor. This particular set up has Thunderbolt ignition. What I was hoping for was a quick swap, plug and play. Any suggestions for brand. Or, should I simply replace with a stock Merc replacement.<br />Thanks Roman

For a easy swap yes use the mercrusier, whats the matter with your dist? Most are easily repairable

put the same thing back in you could probally find one used at just about any boat yard or e-bay. were you trying to drillout 1 of the cap screws? if you drilled thru than just add a nut to a new screw. this issue happens often with these distributors.

make sure you get that number 1 cylinder at TDC.

Thanks for the reply. It was my brother who did the deed. Unfortunately, he needs some lessons as how to hold a drill. <br />However, what options would I have beside the Merc> Roman
