Distributor was removed, engine won't start long, need to set timing

I've seen tons of information on setting the timing but in my case the distributor was removed and I'm not sure if I'm even in the ballpark. The engine will fire but won't run and baxkfired.

The engine is a 94 7.4 mercruiser with the thunderbolt ignition. If anyone can give me a good idea of where to get started, I'd really appreciate it.

Start by finding TDC and stabbing the dizzy correctly
