Do I have to buy a carb. rebuild kit?

I posted a thread earlier about cleaning my carb.on my 1993 40hp. Johnson outboard Mod#TJ40ELETB and received an answer on what I should do.But I was'nt sure if I should by a rebuild kit for it or not ,It make since to buy one but I also dont want to buy one if I dont need too.Any help?

The only way you'll know for sure is to dismantle the carburetor first.

just order the kits (you need 2), the one wiithout the float. it's cheap, and once you have the carbs took apart, might as well put 'em back together with new parts.

that's my philosophy anyway.

Like Joe says, take them apart fist and see how they look inside.:cool:

It's more trouble removing the carb than it is doing the rebuild,get the kit :)
