A friend of mine says a atleast one of these plugs looks lean. The last thing I want to do is destroy a cylinder. I ran into an issue a little while back were I was trying adjust the carbs (big mistake) and I screwed it up to where it would not run. So I set the idle mixtures to 2 turns out and it cranked right up and ran great. I ran it for a couple hours mostly at high speed. It runs fine except for an occassional lag when accelerating, but it doesn't do it all the time. The attached photo is what my plugs look like.

Those plugs look fine to me, but if you are getting a lag in acceleration, I'd consider checking the synchronization and a carb cleaning. Neither could hurt. One sign of a lean mixture is that it will bog under extreme acceleration. It will crater a piston as you know.

They look ok. A bit on the rich side from the looks of them. If they were white, you would be lean. Brown is good. Steam cleaned is bad, and black is rich and wet means fouled out. This is just a general rule.

you are on the rich, healthy side. surely not a lean plug in here. try out if the lag is when you was trolling at low speeds for a longer time. if yes- you are a little to rich. a lean plug is grey/white not brown/black. with this plugs you are far away from blowing a cylinder due to a excessive lean mixture.

Thanks for the help. I'll plan to be running hard all weekend Skiing and tubing. It's going to be a great 4th of July weekend.
