I had a old transducer that always had barnacles on at the end of the year. I recently bought a new one and I bought paint for transducers. It's called mdr or mdh. Should I use it on my humminbird black plastic transducer? How many coats? Could it effect it in any way? Thank you

I have no idea... I just wanted to give kudos for a good question that I have never heard asked before.

I called humminbird and they said if I have problems with barnacles that it's ok to paint. I then ask them for a recommendation of paint to use and she said she didnt have one. I felt that was very strange hajah. How do you recommend someone to use paint but don't have a bend name to use. Unfortunatly I took my boat out of the water to paint it and adjust. I gave it too much of an angle and now I have to take it back out. What a pain in the you know what. I will let you know how it turns out.

If the Transducer can be potted in epoxy and shoot through the fiberglass of the hull and work;
A layer of any kind of paint will not be an issue.

HB does not have a recommended paint because no-matter what you select it will be fine.
Hull Paint, House Paint, Rustoleum, or Artists Oils; Won't matter.
