I was looking at the OMC manual for my Cobra and I cant find a spot that says how to change the zincs.

i did find a spot in the outdrive section that says that when you are putting the lower unit back onto the outdrive to install the zinc FIRST.

So this would lead me to believe that to change the zinc you have to remove the lower unit?

Have any of you done it?

Bump

Anoyone changed these zincs before?

Specifically the one on the front (bow) side of the outdrive right in between where the upper and lower case meets?

I know there were 2 different style zincs based on the design of the lower unit but I always reinstall the front zinc with the drive on...just tilt it up and there are 2 bolts that hold it to the lower uint...
There is another zinc under the transom mount and one at the rear of the lower uint (little cube shaped one)...
