Yeah Ralph,

We have the same problem here, but once the slips are gone, there gone, and your stuck battling it out at the launching ramps!

How do they sublet the slips there...by highest bidder??

Re: Dock or Trailer

I live about 20 to 45 minutes from the ramps that I visit. I only get to go out a couple or 3 time a month on average, and with the Magic Tilt Bunked Trailer, loading/unloading has never been easier. I trailer so that I can visit different areas easily. Also can't afford a slip even it I wanted one.

Trailer em' both..

Probably 15-20 boat ramps in the 60 or more mile stretch of coast that I frequent.. The down side is the ramps are very busy on summer weekends and traffic is bad, especially towing the 21'.. Death grip on the steering wheel!

I can be to any one of about 5 boat ramps in 10-20 minutes, including stopping to fuel up if necessary..

I guess I'm lucky, a slip for my boat is just a tad under $500 for the season.

Thanks for the offer Brian. :)

When I'm at home I keep my little whaler on her trailer. What Ralph said, lots of boat and not many slips. From my house you can drive to my favorit ramp in under 15mins it traffic isn't that bad.

In the summer when I go to Maine I keep it in the water at my grand-dads house.

Ralph,
Where do you launch your boat?

Some of you are REAL lucky. My dream is to walk out of back door, across the yard to to my dock.

Thanks Nosleep, I didn't even notice it. It figures they did a typo, but it could be because I haven't ordered my new top yet. :D

I trailer all 3.
Don't like the idea of them sitting somewhere that I can not see them.

Small boat:
Before I took it apart to modify it. But my partner keeps his boat the same way.
On trailer in the garage, topped off and ready to go at a moments notice. With 3 lakes and the Puget Sound 15 minutes away from the driveway it's called "pick the fin" and head in that direction. Add 10 more minutes and it's 3 more lakes and a small river. OK big creek.. :)

Re: Dock or Trailer

Although I have a place on a lake I always put it back on the trailer when I'm not there. If I leave it in the slip it only takes a few days before ducks make a condo out of it.

Ryan - I go out of Weymouth - the Wessegusset (sp) Ramp. It is at the mouth of the Back River and Hingham Bay. It is near where the Hingham boat shuttle to Boston is - the old Hingham shipyard. Not far from the Fore river and the old Quincy shipyard. (Man they used to build a lot of ships here so sad to see it all idle :( ) It is a short trip to Boston Light and great striper (and even Cod) fishing :D

It is brand new in/out all tides two sides (one in one out) 2 boats per side at a time so things go quickly on launch. The only issue is getting in some times. People having problems loading usually near low tide.

MY - if we could get space we could make a fortune! Moorings are $1,000 a season!

Trailer mine, 15 Minutes approximatly to the ramp.
I like mine in it's shed, where I can watch it, or tinker with it also. I'd be a nervous wreck, worrying about it at a Dock, Unless the Dock was in my back yard, which hopefully one day, I'll have my own ramp, dock and lift. I'll always have a trailer though, might have to take it for repairs.

Ralph,
I've never launched in Hingham , but I brove there by boat before.

I launch in the Mistic River in Medford. Its called presidents landing. I like it because its in freshwater so the motor gets flushed out . The ramp is about 200yards from the locks, and both the ramp and the locks are free.

I can be threw the locks and into the harbor in under 5mins.

I saw your boat in Hingham last summer on a saterday. I didn't know you at the time but once I saw a picture of your boat on this site I made the conection.

Your boat would be a good rig for provence town trips, also know as "P-town".

KKC
I have a small 26'Dusky and around here they get $138.00per foot and you think that is bad, with the motor bracket and the end of the motor makes it 29' and that is what I'm charged for.And if you think that is bad, if you leave your outboard up they charge you to the skeg and that's an extra 3' They charge from the furthest front of the bow to the skeg. They even high light that you will be charged overall length.
