I have a 1990 318 fuel injected that I want to put in my boat. Can I convert it to a regular manifold and carb and ignition or is the block different? Thanks

I doubt it! Doubt anyone makes manifolds for it let alone other marinized components such as dizzys, carbs, alts, starters, fuel pumps. Besides all that what would you connect it to?

ddaigle, the 318 has been used in boats for some time, a quick search showed a 318 marine engine listed for sale. Another site showed a machine shop that rebuilt marine heads for the 318.

Block is the same. You can definitely do it. Being Mopar though, the conversion might end up costing you! You'll have to find an outdrive set up for the 318, at least the bellhousing and coupler. Then you'll need the marine alternator, starter, circulator pump and distributor. You can get any intake you want as long as the carb you find fits it. You'll need to replace the freeze plugs with brass ones, especially if you're going to raw water cool it. The cam will likely have to be replaced, but not totally sure. I'm sure there's more I'm leaving out but you get the idea.

You might end up spending as much as you would on a 5.0 or 5.7 GM-based rebuilt engine, and the latter would likely come with a warranty. There's a lot more to it than I think you're envisioning.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do!
