Does a 1985 - I6 115HP have a temp alarm?

I see many references to temp alarms and wonder if I have one on my motor. If not I'm thinking it should be easy enough to install one or better yet a temp gauge. I asked the guys at the shop where I picked up my gasket what the threaded hole right next to the spark plug on the #1 cylinder is for and they said it is where a temp sender would go. So I'm guessing I do not have one. Can someone either confirm or deny this and is it a simple project to install one? Any recommendations on where and which one to buy?

No it doesn't. Nor does it have a thermostat.

I used that threaded hole for a water pressure gauge hook up.I would rather be able to see the water pressure vs temp on a engine with no thermostat. They run 3-8 lbs so a lower water pressure gauge, 15 lbs would be the best for reading the dial.

The hole I am referring to has no plug in it. There is a 1/8" npt hole that could read pressure in the center of the cover though. So I'm guessing both pressure and temperature could be read.

Okay I have to tell on myself now. I hooked upa low pressure gauge to the cover where the plug is but it didn't show pressure on a 20# gauge. But the telltale was flowing great. The only thing I did different was the gauge. That and I put the garden hose on full blast. OMG I couldn't believe it.

So if someone is having flow out the telltale problems make sure you open that hose bibb all the way. I thought I was getting sufficient flow out of the hose because there was a good amount of water that was leaking out the muffs when the hose was open part way.
We took her out for a ride yesterday and had great flow the entire trip.
