Does Magneto ignition and Magna Power have same coil?

I have a 75 Chrysler 55 with a magneto ignition I'm needing a coil for and I'm wondering if it is the same as the Magna Power? Found a set for a Magna Power just not sure if they're the same. Anyone know?

Magneto ignition is completely different than Magna-Power. Magneto coils are under the flywheel and mounted on the points carrier plate. Magna-Power coils are mounted on the engine, usually on the starter side. Magna-Power II coils are mounted on the head and covered with a plate while the CD unit is up under the flywheel.

Coils for your 1975 55 HP Magneto ignition should be the same as my 1970 35 HP Chrysler's (orange colored under flywheel attached) from what I have learned. Why do you need coils?

I was told the ignition switch had been wired for 12V and the points and one of the coils was burnt up. I had taken it to an outboard shop. He told me the parts were not available. I have already bought a set of points and am now trying to locate a coil or a set of coils.

Standard magneto in Chicago. 800 624 6386 But, they won't be cheap.

Would used parts from parts motors or Fran?s be more reasonable if this is an experimental project?

They can be used just an old fishing boat Im trying to get back running. I have plans of purchasing a new boat in about a year maybe a little longer just trying to get this one back going til then.
