The $30 impeller is nothing compared to the two hours of hell required to reach it. If I'm in there the damn thing is getting replaced! Mercruiser can go to hell, why would you put the raw water pump under the motor and behind the fuel pump and filter such that it cannot be reached without major effort? Sorry, got off on a rant there...![]()
Yup, that's why mine gets changed every three seasons now. I;d rather swap one on an Alpha than on my Bravo. The impeller on the OP's VP engine is a piece of cake to change or inspect. It's worth inspecting/re-using the impeller on that motor since it's almost no effort to remove and costs 35 bucks.
