Don't know which new mechanical fuel pump I need 3.0L 2001

I'm looking for new fuel pump, would normally get parts at local sea ray dealer but they charge over $200!!

My fuel pump is a mechanical fuel pump that the dealership says is also my fuel filter. How do I determine which fuel pump is the right one here on iboats?? Is there a difference in brand, should I just get it from dealership or are the fuel pumps here good by your experience?!?!

Bryen, in the post title you mention that you have a 2001 3 liter engine... but that is about it. You need to be a little more specific. It is helpful to put that info in the body of the text so we don't forget what the title says.

you've got a tall boy carter pump. there is a filter in that bellhousing.

part number 86234A05, list price 265.89

Swap that pump out for pump ## 32722. No filter in that one though. list price 78.95. You may have to clock it to get it to fit. But with the extra money saved you can add a fuel water seperator filter kit as they don't come standard on 3.0's.

If your doing the work yourself make sure you check the pumps fuel filter first and test the boats fuel system as described here before you go swapping the pump out.

Sorry guys I posted this in a hurry and didn't even re-read it!!

It's a 2001 Searay Mercruiser 3.0L Shouldn't have posted this only in the title sorry real confusing when you have to go looking back at the title just to know what boat i'm talking about!

Anyways, I've troubleshooted it down to the fuel pump, still possible that my carb needs to be rebuilt but won't really know until get working pump in!

So what you guys are saying is that if I bought the fuel pump from here it doesn't have filter like my OEM one so I could still use the fuel pump but I would have to add on water seperating fuel filter? The kit comes with everything I need to use filter?
