So my winter project is to reseal and repaint 2 dp-sm drives. The previous owners marina decided to bottom paint drives making it a mess. So far I've replaced u-joints and the seal behind it. Split the case and replaced oring, rubber grommet for water intake, and rotted stainless tubes. Also replaced shift seal on one. pressure tested both drives, 5lbs for 2 hours then 12lbs overnight. Both drives checked out perfect. So as I went to fill one drive with gear oil I noticed chunks of riser manifold behind carrier assembly. Cleaned that all out then noticed Larger prop seal is cracked and missing spring tensioner. I have the volvo seals. I saw a you tube video that was a hack job. I want to do it right and my seloc manual does not have this procedure in it. I found an old thread but the link is not working. Any advice on replacing seals?? Thanks!!
