I have a 2006 DPSM, coupled to a GXI-f. original hose and bellows. Getting ready to change out since they are getting long in the tooth. My transom shield is the late model where the water hose goes through the transom shield. No elbow fitting or hose clamp on the outside. finally found a manual that says it removes from the inside. seriously. Is there a trick ? I can barely get my hands in to see it, yet alone remove it. the inside hose, with the high point loop, is clamped to the fitting. The fitting is bolted to the shield. I can remove the clamp. can barely get my hands on the hose to pull it off. Can't really see the bolts, even with a mirror. Just too tight.
One dealer said remove the engine, another said pray it doesn't get a hole in it.
Anyone know the trick ??
