Drive Gear Ratio

I'm trying to find out the gear ratio on a 2000 Volvo Penta SX drive. It came from a Larson Cabrio 254 with a 5.7 in it. The drive itself is locked up solid, and the tag with the serial # is no longer legible at all.

Any ideas how to find out? I am thinking it is 1.5 to 1, but not sure.

Thanks

It really doesn't matter whether you have the 275, 280 or 290 SP drive.......the final ratio takes place in the lower unit on your drive. All Transmissions (upper units) are the same ratio. This boat will/should have the 1.61:1 ratio drive for an SP and the 1.95:1 for the Duo Prop drive.
The 1:89:1 is a 6 cylinder SP ratio.

The engine dictates the final drive ratio.... not necessarily the hull.

Other sites list it as "Dp-D1 - Lower Gear Unit Ratio 1,78:1 ..."

I also found some Volvo info here;

I expect Don S will confirm when he gets on here again.
