I repaired the waterpump of my 2000 Jonson 30 HP.
Result:
The waterpump is ok, but the gear box is leaking
because of a leak of the inner input shaft seal.
The cause for it is the seal position had changed just a little bit because of the removal of the lower unit.
Since the shaft is worn out through the seal lip in the short time since purchase it became leaking.
It won't be easy now to get it sealed again.
Crankshafts of cars will do it so much longer.

NORDY: TMD's advise is a good approach. Sometimes it's hard to find someone who will touch a job they're not used to. If you have that trouble, there is an alternative of using a Speedy-Sleeve made in the U S by CR (Chicago Rawhide) or an equivalent made there. They're stainless steel and cost more than they look like they should, but, usually less than a rebuild. If you need this alternative, let me know the shaft size--metric or inches-- and I'll let you know if that size is available.
