I have pits in the drive shaft close to the water pump seals. I beleive this is allowing water in the oil and there is oil on the pump.

Is there anyway to repair the pits without replacing the drive shaft?

Might be able to find a machinest that can do a wrap on it and then resurface it. I am considering having this done this winter. A guy here is figuring about 80 bucks to do the job. Looks like a new drive shaft assembly for your motor is around $400. Might want to call around to see if anyone will resurface yours

I used to do lots of metal spray jobs for local boat shops here in AZ. Closed my shop 5 years ago. I am building a new shop and will start doing metal spray again soon (summer 2004). Jobs on shafts like yours would be around $85 plus shipping.

AJ
