I dropped a screw at the very back of the motor near the cowling latch. I can't see it laying there so guessing it fell down to the lower unit. Anybody got any ideas as to where it went and if it will be a problem. Btw I have a 25 etec

Unless you absolutely need it, forget about it. There's nothing there for it to interfere with.

If needed, try a pencil shaped magnet that has an extension wand.

I don't need it. Just didn't want it to plug up a drain hole.

If it's a stainless steel screw a magnet won't pick it up anyway, so just forget it.

If you dropped the screw inside the motor pan I don't think there are any openings to where it can disappear or land up inside the motor; correct me if I'm wrong.

It's not stainless. I'm probably gunna take it to the dealer and get him to fix the cowling latch and make sure it didn't fall in a troublesome place.

Granpappy Jack liked to say: If'n ya put something back together & it ran? Any leftover parts/fasteners were "gravy" ...
