Dry rotted floor

I have a 86 skeeter starfire and my stringers are all rotted and i dont think I'll get a good one out to use as a guide. Is there any info out there on the specs for this boat?

pretty sure your transom is also gone

measure your existing stringers, make cardboard templates, etc before you remove anything, take lots of pictures. then simply remove everything down to the hull, grind for a few days and then build it back up.

None that would help recreate a stringer.

Run a straight edge or a string from point A to point B and measure down to get the contour of the hull for the bottom edge of the stringer.

Welcome to iBoats, you came to a great place for information on your build. Like Scott said, there are a lot of resources here, and unfortunately you're not going to find any templates for specific hull parts. Make sure you takes lots of pictures and measurements as far as location of parts. If you have bulkheads that intersect the stringers you could use a "story stick". See post #161 on my restoration link below as a basic idea. Once you get a basic shape scribe the bottom, trim the top, then you could use the same method for the stringers. Just another idea as there are lots of ways to skin a cat, but this is how I like to do it.

Go to a Local Appliance store and have them give you some refrigerator boxes. Cut the cardboard and tape it together to get 10" x how ever long you need. Use a pencil compass but tape a Medium tip Magic marker



to it and then scribe the bottom of the hull putting the mark on the cardboard. Cut the scribed mark to shape and then determine where the top of stringer should be to make a flat level top. use this template to make your stringers from laminated 1/2" ext. grade plywood. Remember the scribe line doesn't have to conform perfectly to the hull. When you PB the stringers in it will fill any/all gaps.

@Kb5jfx is working on one too. He's getting some personal stuff taken care of now, but you guys might be able brain storm as you go along.

My recommendation if you want it is to plan on twice the time you're thinking. Use the extra time to save up for motor parts in case SHTF.
