I have a DT140 that I have been having problems with the engine bouncing off of the rev limiter. I figured out that its an overheat sensor that has the engine cut out in it. The problem is that the parts breakdown has a engine temp sensor( p/n 34820-94600) and it has a heat sensor assy (p/n 34850-94610) does anyone know which one i am looking for?

Re: DT 140 parts question

What model year?

If your overheat sensor activates the rev limiter you have a problem with the heat sensor which is basically a switch. Wiring is G/R and B. This one causes alarm on the engine.

There is a cylinder temp sensor too, but this one measures temp for CDI and ignition control. It wouldn't cause any alarms. Wiring V/W and B.

Check the sensor first and be sure the engine is not overheating!!
