Guys I am stuck I have a 150 that wont rev past 2000 rpms. I have been told that there is a code that may need to be reset in the computer. I have not been able to find a Suzuki machanic that has the diagnostic computer that can do this I have checked all the authorized dealers within 150 mi. any ideas?

You were told wrong.

What year engine?
Do you have a factory service manual?
What diagnostic tests have you done?

Re: dt 150 help

Its a 1996.
I have not done any tests on it the 3 mechanics that have worked on it replaced the high speed fuel filter, the fuel pump the CDI and 1 of the coils I was told that the compression on all the cylinders was between 95 and 110. I sure could use some advice on what to do next.
Thanks

Re: dt 150 help

never heard of a high speed fuel filter on motor.
CDI inputs and out puts can be tested and timing to see if there is a problem so I do not understand why they replaced it if there was not a problem with it.
Coil can be tested also instead of just replacing things

Does the alarm system work?
Maybe you have a problem that is putting motor in safe mode but the alarm is not sounding like it should.

Need to find some one that knows about these motors and how to test things

Re: dt 150 help

I sure hope they did not charge you for all those expensive parts that they "threw at it", but did not fix the problem. Were these so called "mechanics" even at a Suzuki dealer?

You need to find a long time Suzuki dealer that has a technician who is qualified to work on your engine. Especially if it's the EFI model.

Re: dt 150 help

Thanks guys how would I know if the alarm system works? As I stated in the original post I cannot find a qualified tech within 100+
mi. thanks to the economy it seems that allot of the marinas are closed around here. Unfortunately I have had to layout over $2500.00 so far that is why Im here. yes it is an efi model. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and I guess that it is up to me now.
hey guys thanks for the advice in advance I really want to us my boat this season!!!!!
