I have a 1985 dt 85 suzuki. I am having shift problems. It will not go into fwd or reverse. I have the lower unit off and disassembled the fwd gear slid out no problem. The clymer manual says to next remove the pinion gear. It is on a keyed shaft but will not slide off very easily. Is this a matter of brute force or am I missing something here. Special tools? any help would be appreciated.
