With 2002 DTC 150 I have been experiencing problems with alarm coming on while in gear at lower RPMs (but rarely in neutral in idle or at cruise speed). When alarm comes on, say at 1500 RPMs in gear, engine will usually accelerate for an instant and alarm will go off. Eventually, alarm will sound and engine will cut off. This problem occurs regularly. Took it to dealer who sold me the boat, and they did not experience the problem nor did they observe the head getting too hot. I asked that they go ahead and replace temp sensors in head thinking we may be getting false alarms. I also asked them if they had diagnostic software, and they said it died along with a hard drive and was not replaced. (So much for service after the sale) Got the boat back and experienced same problems as before. Have recently replaced water pump (pee stream is good), batteries, and spark plugs. In addition to any comments on this problem, does a code reader work well with this engine to provide good info?
