DT5 water circuit?

ive got a DT5 0502 250762 and am concerned that it isnt pumping water.


i think i can see a water outlet under the powerhed but it doesnt have any water coming out of it.

How can i tell its pumping or not?

should I add that Im in Australia, so being that its refered to as the land down under, maybe the numbers are too?

according to your serial it is a 1992, but suzuki didn't make any 5hp then ....

you can try and wiggle a thin wire in the "pee hole" .....

Well the only thing that I can go on is the tag that is on the motor which says (clearly) the numbers I posted, so unless it is an older (1991) that was specifically numbered and badged for the local australian market, then I have no other ideas as to why I have a DT5 that was badged in a year when they apparently made none..........

What I think is the pee hole, is located up under the power head on the left (when looking at the motor, standing behind the prop).

Does this sound correct?

nope, it should be on the right (when looking at the motor standing behind it), take the cowling off and have a look, a black pipe should come out the powerhead and onto the "pee-nozzle" connected below the cowling ..... you can take the pipe off and see if water comes out when running ....
