i have a dt 55 suzuki outboard on my boat. the boat has three carbs after doing some gas line replacement and filter replacement i some how broke the black splitter that connects to the carborator. does anyone know if the piece screws out so i can just tap a splitter into it or am i gonna have to get creative with a hose and something. it looks like the metal piece might screw out of the carb but im not sure. if anyone has any ideas please let me know i want to get out on the water befor the winter comes thanks

It helps a lot if you can tell us what year motor you have. However go to brownspoint.com and look at the drawings. My guess is that the tee does not screw out. In that case you need to find a compatible brass tee and remove the old one and tap for the new.

the tee is plastic. the piece behind it is brass that goes into the carb. the motor is a 1980

The DT55 didn't come out until 1985, what's the serial number? Also, which carb is it, I might have one for your motor.

it is a 1985

I believe he was asking which of the 3 carbs has the broken fitting ( top, middle or bottom)

Bingo on the last post, I'm unable to post a photo but my set of 1991s will look the same on the outside. They are a different part number, jetted differently, the middle carb has its throttle shaft machined for a throttle position sensor where as yours is machined for the throttle position switch. Also, on my bottom carb, the previous owner hacked off the oil pump control lever from the throttle shaft, his version of switching to premix. Post your photos and let me know which carb has the bad nipple, maybe we could mix and match assuming the peened screws that retain the butterfly valves on the throttle shafts come out cleanly.

Have you tried removing the fitting? If so, post some pictures of that, I've never seen your issue.

these are the pictures you requested. i went ahead and found a t fitting and some hose and made a temp fix so i can get it on the water for some testing. when sitting at home on the ears i cant rev up the motor with out it killing its self out. im hoping to get out and test it on the lake befor its freezes but we will see.
on a side note what is you opinion of adding a small 10psi inline fuel pump. i wonder if that would help keep the fuel moving. anythought
