DT90 No start, no idle, but runs great ?

I have a late 90's DT90 on my 19' Center Console, it has sat for 3 years without running. I got to working on it this summer and got it fired up. I pulled the carbs and cleaned them, replaced the fuel filter housing, filter and lines to the engine.

I can't get it to start without "starter fluid". It won't idle. But once I get it started with the fluid, and get it in gear, it will run on the top end perfect up and down the lake. I mean run perfect, from just above idle all the way to full throttle. But once I pull the handle back, it cuts off.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

You said just above idle? did the idle screw get moved, maybe turn it a half turn and call it a day?

Sounds like the choke isn't working properly or the carb isn't adjusted right to me....

I hate to even ask this, but I had the entire handle apart rebuilding it, and never even thought about an idle screw. Where is it ? Is it the large screw about the size of a dime on the handle it'self ?

Thanks
